GNGCD Kicks Off Renovation of Vidanta Vallarta Norman Signature Course Ahead of 2026 Mexico Open VidantaWorld
Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, Mexico — Greg Norman Golf Course Design (GNGCD) is set to begin renovation work on the acclaimed Vidanta Vallarta Norman Signature Course, home of the PGA TOUR’s Mexico Open at Vidanta since 2022. The updates are designed in collaboration with the PGA TOUR and will enhance course strategy, drama, and spectator experience ahead of the 2026 tournament.
Construction begins September 2025, with completion targeted for December. Planned updates include work to holes 4, 8, 17, 18 as well as a new 4,000 sq. ft. green to enhance practice facilities.
“Our goal is to create memorable moments for both players and fans by amplifying the strategic variety and drama, particularly in the closing stretch,” said Greg Norman.
The course, opened in 2016, has quickly earned recognition, including 2017 LINKS Magazine’s “Where to Play Golf in Mexico” and Golf Inc.’s 2022 Renovation of the Year (Public). The upcoming enhancements will continue to position Vidanta Vallarta among the premier tournament venues in the world.
